augusty day

old church in downtown franklin

today was a beautiful day! the air was full of cool breezes and warm sunshine. so going for a drive seemed to be the thing to do. rachel and i got in the viper and just drove. no kids! no husbands! just us, the sun, and the wind in our hair. we drove like we were going somewhere but in truth it was our little get away. we drove around franklin(our quaint town) and we rode on the natchez trace parkway(a beautiful highway of parkland). here are some of the sights we enjoyed.
famous ole factory(use to make porcelain stoves) now it houses various antique shops, paint pottery, fun places to eat, and shop etc...

saturday rendezvous

this is our local farmers market.
it is in the historic town of franklin, we live there now. the market is behind the factory during summer and fall.
we visit it every saturday morning around 7:30 am. you have to get there early to get the organic eggs(i never knew there really was such a thing as green eggs & ham), they sell out around 8ish. also, it is less crowded and around 10 or so the heat is unbearable.
we have our favourites* arugula star, frisky berry, hatcher dairies, and a place that gives doggies cookies and water to buster brown. we usually get a coffee and tea from friskey berry and then survey the area and then go back and buy want we love.
buster brown comes every week and people of all ages love him. we have plenty of perspective buyers of his puppies when we bred him. he is very social and a well behaved boy and gets lots of treats and attention.
at the end while veiwing our spoils , we like to sit down and listen to the ole' timy blue grass band.
it is our saturday morning treat!
