august day

...up close and personal.

it's hot.

the sunflowers are flourishing in the heat.

gold finches love this spot.

they are eating right off the flower heads.

pokeweed...reaching out...

sparkling in the sun.

stalks of the sunflowers have become a trellis for the morning glory.

makes it irresistable for sitting in the garden
either at sunrise or sunset.

teddy bear magnolia is doing well...growing...

...blooming first flower.

velvet bean cover crop growing on the corn.

it is always fun when out in the veggie garden to go pull
up a carrot and share it...immediately...it is gobbled up.

bronte' jane and buster brown are always close by...observing.

i can't get enough of these larged faced beauties.

zinnias always reaching high toward the face of the sun.

morning glory opens for viewing...

...so lovely.

...happiest of august days.

enamored by the sun

is there anything more wonderful than new life...
the birth of a child...no not really.
something so brand new...clean...pure...
sunflowers are coming forth everyday...it is like my own little burst of sunshine.
there are new ones unfurling daily...here at dash home farm.
being planted in the front...back...against the barn...anywhere i could find

some warm soil...i am so glad i put so many seeds in the ground.
every stage is wonderfully beautiful.

growing...reaching towards the sky...

...searching for the sun's rays.

allowing all manner of flying things a place of respite.

much to this viewers delight...
...shape, size, and colour are all different.
they love the warmth of the sun.
the birds eat right off the big flower heads...

...home to the bees.

sunshine in my eyes makes me happy.
