twilight...

...the diffused light from the sky during the early evening...strewn illumination.

it's a wondrous time of day...just before evening.

this is one of my favourite times to be outdoors...to capture an area of interest...
in the best light possible...it's magical.

we have had our share of rain in the last few weeks.
yesterday's showers filled the rain gauge overbrim.

the dry creek bed has been flowing this week...which i love.
the meandering water over the rocks is so peaceful.

but when the sun peeks through after days of rain...the whole place
is vibrant...with green...which makes the other colours stand out
against it's verdant background...especially at twilight.

the illumination couldn't be any more perfect.

whole corn fields shine intensely with this diffused light.

ordinary grasses look as if they are glowing under their own source of power.

weeds become a thing of beauty...rather than

something one wants to get rid of.

an unbloomed cosmos takes on an ethereal quality.

a wasp on a leaf becomes a twilight lightening bug...of sorts.

even the already consumed sunflowers...shine with radiant beauty.

the concentrated light can play tricks with the colour you think you are

seeing...purple alyssum looks brilliant pink when the sunlight hits its petals.

twilight is my time...for taking walks...capturing beauty...

sunshine on the water looks so lovely.

sunshine almost always makes me high...

verte

verte is french for green.

green is one of my favourite garden colours...in flowers...in grasses.

taking a break from the gardening rituals of late...tillling...digging...raking

...planting...watering...soil amending...mulching...fencing...

we take a much needed walk into the green.

i love this time of year when green is emerging everywhere...effortlessly.

the grass gets so tall without any help from mankind.

all sorts of things start popping up if left alone.

even puppy loves leaping thru the green.

we have many fields around us that are naturally wild...it is exciting to the senses.

it refreshes me after working hard in the garden.

something as simple as the dandelions...are beautiful to behold.

we think we have seen a golden eagle over our pasture land.

still waiting to see the kestrel but there is evidence something has

been there...checking to see if they like it.

as we walk and observe all around us is a balmy breeze

whispering sweet nothings in our ears...

some of our grasses left uncut...for a natural habitat.

nests are all around us...proof that life is in abundance...we have had a litter of squirrels.

we are loving beatrice...she seems to be taking to us in stride.

i found this site to make scrapbook pages. i love to scrapbook and spend a lot of time doing it.

i have been playing with it. my first attempt has some odd pictures but it did let me load the original movie i made for "day spent walking" with the music, thus i am posting it. just ignore all the ucky pictures of me.

day spent walking

this is the view right outside my front door across the street.
dusk brings out the beautiful golden hues of the leaves.


nandina bushes heavily laden with berries are all around our property.
for some reason i have taken notice of them more this season with their reds, oranges and deep burgundies.



our 7 plus acres is partly pasture but their is a wall of dense
trees to the left that divides us from one neighbour.
as we take our leave to walk, the trees are our guides.




the leaves have been falling profusely creating showers of colour.
as they leave the trees, the berries all around show off their many varieties.








for me there is something so telling, so beautiful about spent...leaves, wildflowers, and fields.

since our frosts have tipped all the greenery in brown

the berries are just waiting for the birds to come and eat.

pleasing to my eye is the wispiness of the thistle.

i love the look of sepia in natural wild scape's.

this old tree holds many secrets of birds lives.






queen anne's lace is still pretty even though bitten.







nature is the best inspiration for fashion.

just take a look at the red, green, brown, grey...or the orange with black polka dotted leaves.

this walk has been rejuvenating for me and dh.

taking time alone, together, it is a blessing.

taking note of the beauty in nature always does the heart and mind good.
