Hey, your place looks like mine! Oh yes, I remember, we are both in Tennessee! Yeah! Okay, okay, not the normal me-I'm in a really good mood this morning. My son is ecstatic no school-two days in a row! Enjoy your day.
It doesn't take much to cancel school when any unfamiliar weather crosses our path. Here it is the threat of hurricanes... there snow. The kids always take what they can get and then... they have to make it up at the end. Ahhhh, instant gratification...
Too bad you didn't get enough to actually play in but I'm sure when it is falling it none the less exciting.
I have been listening about the crazy weather! Really bad in the North East. It's drizzling here, may have some thunderboomers tonight and then in the 20's for the weekend. If it snow only 100 flakes this entire town would shut down. Hope your kids have a happy day! They will soon be making this snow day up!!
I can remember those days when Mum said "No school today". I was over the moon...... Nothing much has changed there then!! Children all over the world just love a day off school.......
i am glad you are in a really good mood which is a feat in this weather. we had school yesterday but not sure about tmrw with the temps dropping and all the water possibly turning to ice. we shall see. be careful out there.
meems, it's true for sure up here about canceling but we have some very curvy backroads on steep inclines so buses have to be extra careful. i just think it is funny sometimes. we usually have a certain amount of snow days designated with no make ups but if we go over then they just take away another holiday, which is nice because it is not tacked on at the end. dh and abbey are playing right now on the wii. thank God he likes that kind of thing.
Yes we got a bit of snow, too. We went to bed planning on a hike in the 'snow' and woke up to nothing but rain...then a tiny little bit fell. But it does look good.
i knew it wouldn't last very long. all the snow is gone now. we are in the upper 20's here but it seems to be getting colder and with all the rain it will be iced over roads. so be careful out there/ we are all done for the day/ which is nice so no worries.
Oh...how I wish I was where you are right now. I'm sure the cold get's old..but I've been told in Tenna. that just about the time you are tired of the cold - spring begins...What a great place to raise kids.
coachk, you are right it is bearable but i miss the sunshine most of all. i am heading south in just a couple of weeks for a sunshine fix. but otherwise i absolutely love it here in tn.
Hey, we had a rain day a couple of weeks ago. I guess they decided we were going to get any snow days and it was flooding everywhere so they closed all the schools all over east Tennessee due to rain. Go figure!
leedra, flooding is a real problem here is tn. we have seen cars swept away trying to cross a place they didn't realize it was that deep. i guess it is better to be overly cautious than risk someone getting hurt.
I have been seeing flowers all day and they have given me an idea for and article. . . . . "Are Flowers Sexy?" . . . . Any comments anyone?
P.S. This 'Old Dog' being on the other side of the sexual equation(White straight male) has no idea why women love flowers. . . . Why are women attracted to flowers?
i don't know about flowers being sexy. in my own opinion, they are beautiful, natural, represent life, intricate designs lovely to look at, intriguing to grow, nice to receive...

I am a happily married woman of 27 years. I lived in Florida for 40 years and moved to Tn in 2000. We lived in the city of Brentwood for 6 years and move to Leiper's Fork in May of 2007. We have been in the country for about six years now on a 7.24 acre farm. We call it Dash Home Farm. Da-for Dave and Sh-for Sharon. We live in a victorian farmhouse made to look old(it acts old). We love the community of Leiper's Fork and the quaintness of the town (no lights).

Mine were out of school for two days. It was some kind of slick here, although we got a little more than you did.~~Dee
