to say that autumnal colours fascinate me would be a huge
understatement....
.
i stood under my maple tree the other day with the sun
shining and the wind blowing...the temps were in the low 70's.
.
.
i couldn't help thinking this is the perfect day...perfect weather...perfect season...
and i'm alive.
everything about fall makes my senses awaken.
just look at all the beauty in nature.....it sings.
leaf colours that rival any flower i have ever seen.
when the air turns crisp and blows it's way through the the changing
leaves and you hear their crunchy selves rustling together...it's music to my ears.
then to have sunshine and blue skies...nothing could be better.
so i revel in this time of year....i am complete.
even my zinnia's are mimicking the leaves...
as well as the nadina berries.
.
and the marigolds....
.
.
.
i guess it all makes sense seeing as one of my favourite colours is red.
.
brown...
white....
purple...
green...
orange.....
any colour that is burnishing.
life is good.
enjoy it.

Fantastic post! I love what seasons do to colours. And I love the way it makes me feel. We dont have this fiery metamorphosis but hey, I'm in a tropical land so colour is never out of the frame. Yeah, life is good! :)
So wonderful to see all the color and to know you are drinking in the fullness of it. Those crisp, clear, blue sky days just make you want to bottle them up. This time of year is most refreshing after the long hard season of summer. We don't get the leaves changing but we are happy about the changes we do have.
Beautiful photos but that last one is breathtaking, dear sis.

Dear Marmee...it is a beautiful time of year and your photographs do indeed show that.
I also think it is a nostalgic time but not a time for regret.
It is indeed good to be alive......
Beautiful photos and I love that birdhouse.
Marnie
As much as I love spring, nothing can compete with the vibrant colors of autumn. Beautiful post, Marmee! It's a great time to get outdoors and enjoy the fleeting beauties of nature.
Life is grand! I agree with everyone who's said this~that last photo is wonderful! gail
Beautiful pics and words Marmee. I love that last picture looking up thru those golden leaves. So pretty!
Top of the morning to you!
I agree with the others: that last picture is especially lovely. (apart from making me dizzy :-)
BTW, your spelling of the word 'colo(u)r' intrigues me, coming from an American. Ignore me, just nosey.
darla,
life is short...enjoy it but maybe slow down a tad.
happy autumn.
rachel thanks dear.
sunita,
thanks for coming to visit me at "things i love." colours of the season make life interesting and this is the season i love.
i can only imagine what living in a tropical land 24/7 must be like. wonderful.
happy days of autumn.
meems,
would it be heaven on earth to have those days everyday...although grey days makes the blue/sun shiney ones so much more precious.
you say long hard season of summer and i say long hard season of winter just where we are headed. it is such a very long season for me being from the sunshine state.
i am still so fascinated with the leaves changing...i hope that feeling never goes away.
we just drove on the natchez trace parkway this past weekend taking abbey to nutcracker prastises in nashville...it is so gorgeous. i hope the leaves stay on so you can see them if you are able to come.
happy autumn.
thanks!
cheryl,
you are most kind to say so...nature is beauty itself. it is so much fun capturing it with the camera lens. i could do it every day i think.
happy days of autumn are here.
marnie...thank you...that is a butterfly house although i don't believe butterflies use houses.
happy autumn.
rose,
i too love spring but fall has a charm all it's own. i am enjoying the changes. some of these days have been just the perfect weather to be outdoors doing whatever makes you happy.
happy days of autumn.
Beautiful as always! I just love visiting your blog...i say it all the time....but its like a breath of fresh air!
I reckon it's unanimous. That last shot is breathtaking. It sighs, 'eternal'. I also am quite fond of your 'brown' shot. Lovely!
Have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^
With all the colors of the rainbow of nature for our eyes to behold Fall is the time to contemplate the warmth of Summer but to envision the coming of the cold to slow things down for the burst of the coming Spring & it's ever present beauty.
It's raining at the present time. Someone is playing with the bowling balls in heaven.
Have a joyous Fall.
thanks dear gail...hope you are enjoying your week.
living life to the fullest in autumn.
susie...isn't this the best time of year...leaves are a beautiful thing when they are all different colours.
happy autumn.
joco...good afternoon to you.
just looking into the trees is a little retreat right now.
as far as the spelling goes...my husband is canadian...some of it has rubbed off on me after 23+ years. besides doesn't it seem more romantic to call it colours instead of colors.
happy days of changes leaves in autumn.
