a silence

Well, All hope seems lost
On this bleak Winter's day
No leaves on the trees
And the sky pasty grey

The birds are all huddled
Somewhere far away
Oh! Where is the sun
On this cold Winter's day

But something is stirring
I see two
My heart starts to quicken
And i don't feel as blue

By Hundreds then Thousands
They come to my door
Their knock, it is silent
Yet, i cannot ignore...

Their call, So I bundle
Then step into the yard
My mood it is changing
It wasn't that hard

The first snow of Winter
Has brightened my day
Mr. Sun, just stay hidden
So i can go play

I'll make me an angel
Or a snowman named Matt
Back inside for a moment
To get him a hat

My tongue it lies waiting
To taste winters fare
My heart is unburdened
I've nary a care

The birds come to visit
There's plenty of seed
The song they are singing
Is just what I need

The night brings a silence
The moon casts it's glow
For Winter's much better
When frosted with snow

twas' the night before christmas...

when all thru my house not a creature was stirring except me, marmee.
somehow all the excitement of that fateful day
just keeps rolling around in my head
which is keeping me from sleeping much to my dismay.
looking at all the gifts wrapped up in bright ribbons...
i do so hope everyone likes what they get
because more than anything i want them to feel loved.

which brings me to the real reason we are in celebration.
it's Christ's birthday and He is our main focus for this christmas day.

we will read the familiar story and then share our bounty
eat lots of good food and count our blessings.

merry christmas to all of you and your families.

how does your garden grow...

mine grows....
with garden fairies...and little angel girls
waiting in the wings for their grand entrance.
with lights apply a natural glow to lovely faces...

with dancing princesses....letting their selves be bright.

with wonderment of sweet garden fairies, their wonder, and delight.

with pretty blue~eyed girls....just waiting their turn
with lovely locks of uptwisted curls.

with little pink garden fairies ready to dance...

and line up for their very own chance...

to skip...upon a stage that says they can.

that is how my garden is growing.

happy december.

holiday happiness day 12 ~ 12 days of christmas

as many of you know...i am joining my sister, meems @ hoe and shovel in posting from the garden or outside decor...the 12 days of christmas. today is our last post for 12 days of christmas.

to say that it is cold here is an understatement for
sure....brrrrr baby it's cold outside.

we celebrate christmas for one main reason....Christ.
he is our Saviour and it is in honour of Him we set aside this
special time of the year to celebrate our lives in Him.

so the manger becomes a central focus for us.
the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes...

with mary and joseph...and the shepherds.....the wise men bearing gifts.
here at the green household we wish you a merry christmas...

but also one filled with whimsy....wonderment....

and joy.

our tree also is a huge part of the whole atmosphere of celebration.

of course we love the whole idea of having a huge live tree in the house anyway.

full to the brim with all it's decorations. and golden hued leaves.

pears.....sugar~coated grapes........spheres of feathers....

anything sparklely....shiny.....glittering....we love it.

christmas time is here....and it is the best time of the year.

and of course presents everywhere.

happy december......the 12 days of christmas...
thanks for coming by everyday.
