moon at daybreak

we are quite frozen over...here at the farm.
daybreak always looks pretty but with snow
all over the place...even more so.

our roads haven't been plowed and are iced over.
we are staying put.

after a failed trip to atlanta on the day of the worst of
it...getting stranded in manchester, tn overnight...about
an hour and forty~five minutes away with regular
weather...but 4 hours away in these conditions...white~knuckle driving.
all is well and we are home safe.

what a sight to see....the farm....after our treacherous adventure.

the moon is setting and the sun is
rising....a beautiful silent time of the morning.

so good to be home...
so blessed to be safe....
very happy january.

birthday celebrations

welcome to abbey's room.

when abbey got home from ballet today i had done some updates to her room...
.
.

in her words....i want my room to be more paris~y.
.
changed her pale pink comforter to purple with bright pink and black pillows.

i added touches of black, with wall stickers of chandeliers, chalkboard, and a tree with birds.

some owls, black and white pictures, and an iron eiffel tower.
she really loved it and said it was perfect.

then some friends came over and we played games and had banana bread.

.

.

...opened gifts.

.

.

we had a lovely time celebrating.
happy birthday my precious girl.

vet visit at home

we are an animal family.
6 dogs, 3 cats, 2 bunnies, and 1 horse.
so having a vet come to our home for a visit is great.
our dogs all got an exam and shots.
our two youngest cats got spayed. it was so convenient.
it was also stress~free...which is great.
some of our dogs are not good car riders.

bronte' jane was dubbed very healthy.

beatrice was her usual calm self.

lylah was her usual nervous self.

vixen was her usual shy self.

did you notice we had a new dog. our son found this unusual dog.
we call it a whatchamacallitdogfoxwolfkindaofathing.
she was a pitiful skin and bones pup.
two months later...she looks really healthy.
we are calling her vixen...i have tried to find a home for her but nothing so far.
anybody want a sweet puppy that looks like a wild dog?
you laugh and say no.

well for now and maybe forever she has a home.
happy january.
