blt minus b & l

this may seem a little on the copycatish side.
they do say that is the highest form of flattery.
but i also thought we could start a revolution or rebellion, together.
whichever suits your personality.
let' s no longer accept the society norm of the blt.
let's get rid of the fat, bacon.
let's get rid of the tasteless, lettuce.
LET'S STICK WITH THE HOME GROWN, JUICY, FLAVOURFUL, SUCCULENT, HEIRLOOM TOMATO SANDWICH.
(salmonella need not apply)
sweet tea and kettle chips are a nice addition.

in and around wildflowers

i am very glad to be home to my blooming wildflowers and beautifully giant sunflowers!

the single reason i started a veggie garden

i know this may seem silly but when we first moved to the country i thought i need a garden for this most beautiful of veggies. i load up on them in the fall and place them in strategic places to enhance the scenery around the house and porches. so what better than to grow them myself. here "tada!" is my first one although not planted it grew from my compost plie.
more will follow...

my sister, my friend

...in that shadow but i put that undue pressure on myself. we are quite different and those differences are to be exercised to the fullest and enjoyed.

i am not sure i could have ever come to appreciate this without having moved to another state(physically and emotionally). i have grown to understand that it is our different qualities that make us more compatible. we balance each other out. you can't have too much of the same thing without tipping the scale.

thank you , my sister , my friend for some of the most precious days i will always have tucked in my most special, sacred memories.

i was treated like a queen(i do have a bit of a diva in me). a beautiful guest quarters made me feel right at home.

the food was, as always, better than a five star hotel. made with fresh ingredients from the garden, and the perfect spices and herbs only a seasoned cook would use. then a simple beautiful presentation from the artistic chef, herself.

the company was an unexpected treat of very relaxed sharing, laughing, revisiting old memories and of course catching up.

thank you my sister, my friend for always being there for me and inspiring me to be a better person. i deeply love you and love what you bring to my life. i always learn something very insightful about myself and my world after being around you.

i am still trying to take it all in and hopefully fully process it.

thank you my sister, my friend!

home again, home again, jiggety jig

i have just returned from going to florida for a mini vacation! i am going to talk about my trip on a later post. this is about what i came home to in tennessee. well...

...the welcome home was met with tears and laughter. the tears came when abbey jumped into her daddio's arms and said "i missed you soooooo much". then the laughter came from just recalling all the things we had done and the fun that had been had.

i arrived home to a freshly cut lawn, clean sheets(hug), and a group of beautifully appointed antique lawn chairs. wow! all of that and a clean house too! thanks, honeybunny, you have done good but here's where you'll be saying man i wish that was me.

dave,

my love, gave me a beautiful card with the perfect words.

this is what it said...

i remember how i felt

the first time i saw you.

there was something about you

that i couldn't forget.

maybe it was your eyes

or your irresistible smile--

all those things that i have since

come to know so well.

but whatever it was,

i remember that it drew me in

and took hold of me

in a way i couldn't ignore.

now when i look at you,

i see someone who's become

so incredibly important in my life.

yet there are still those moments

when i feel the mystery, the charm,

the same invisible power

pulling me to you--

just as it did when we first met.

And in those moments,

i can't help myself...

I fall in love

all over again.

i love you,
dave

more tears followed after the reading of those words and hugs ensued. i am truly blessed and it was a great coming home!

my love

my love, dave, brought these most gorgeous coloured roses home to me a few days ago! talk about a modern man! he is amazing!
"these represent our passion for each other" he said.
wow, we are on fire! and then they caught the sunlight even more fire. thank you honeybunny for loving me the way you do in these most amazing times!

if i could say it with words, there would be no reason to plant.
