Marmee, The tulips are beautiful. What a nice surprise for you. I was reading your profile and you are living my dream. I am from Pa and moved here when I was 16. We spent every fall in NC or Tn. My dream is to one day live in one of those states and experience the seasons that I so miss. I loved your previous post of the rainy morning and the birds - it brought back such memories.
coachk, welcomed to "things i love". we often remark on how we are living our dream. when we lived in florida we used to sing , a tender tennesseee christmas, and wish we were here. now we have been living in tn almost 9 years and really love it here. thank you for your kind words, hopefully we will cross paths again.
darla, you must experience tulips even if it is only the cut kind. they are a very excellent flower. of course i am partial to the purple ones but all are beautiful.
rissa, i know well we share our love of purple. did you know that brown papa's mother loved purple too? she had it in her country house in her bedroom. these flowers were given at just the right moment when i needed a little colour lift.
As soon as the grocery stores start to have tulips and daffodils I am buying! They brighten up these wintery days and make me know spring is not too far away. Such a sweet and thoughtful hubby!

I am a happily married woman of 27 years. I lived in Florida for 40 years and moved to Tn in 2000. We lived in the city of Brentwood for 6 years and move to Leiper's Fork in May of 2007. We have been in the country for about six years now on a 7.24 acre farm. We call it Dash Home Farm. Da-for Dave and Sh-for Sharon. We live in a victorian farmhouse made to look old(it acts old). We love the community of Leiper's Fork and the quaintness of the town (no lights).

They are such a beautiful color, and they got the ones they hoped for.
