holiday happiness day 12 ~ 12 days of christmas

as many of you know...i am joining my sister, meems @ hoe and shovel in posting from the garden or outside decor...the 12 days of christmas. today is our last post for 12 days of christmas.

to say that it is cold here is an understatement for
sure....brrrrr baby it's cold outside.

we celebrate christmas for one main reason....Christ.
he is our Saviour and it is in honour of Him we set aside this
special time of the year to celebrate our lives in Him.

so the manger becomes a central focus for us.
the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes...

with mary and joseph...and the shepherds.....the wise men bearing gifts.
.
here at the green household we wish you a merry christmas...

but also one filled with whimsy....wonderment....

and joy.

our tree also is a huge part of the whole atmosphere of celebration.

of course we love the whole idea of having a huge live tree in the house anyway.

full to the brim with all it's decorations.
tassels....flowers......hearts......lights......ribbon....berries and golden hued leaves.

pears.....sugar~coated grapes........spheres of feathers....

birds......elephants......chimps..........doggies........zebras...

anything sparklely....shiny.....glittering....we love it.

christmas time is here....and it is the best time of the year.

and of course presents everywhere.

happy december......the 12 days of christmas...
thanks for coming by everyday.

Dear Marmee,
I so wish I could be there to see all your fine decorations in person. It is a time when you shine with creativity and I surely miss sharing it with you.Your tree is a work of art and your nativity scene a true beauty. As we celebrate our Savior this season I hold you in my heart as a dear treasure.

Thank you for joining my crazy idea to do 12 days of Christmas. When time has squeezed her last squeeze out of me... I kept telling myself if you could do it, I could do it. And as happens so many times with us our Day 12 is a very similar sight. I love that though... it just reminds me that although we are quite different in personality, we have so many similarities in common that just say... "sisters".

A very Merry Christmas to you. Love and hugs.
Meems

Beautiful ornaments. You must have fun placing them on the tree. Does each have a special place on the tree?

Dear Marmee,
Thank you for sharing your family tree. It is a fantastic work of art. I bet each ornament has a story. When my husband and I put up our family tree it is a walk into Christmas past. Many of our ornaments are handmade. All carry joy.
Your sharing of your family here has encouraged me to share more of mine. Not only on my blog but also to invite family and friends to my home and gardens.
I have always been somewhat private. Your openness has encouraged me to open my front door.
Thank you for this gift of sharing.
I already feel more connected!
I think I will go call my sister....
Merry Christmas.
My gift to you is the gift of gratitude.
Love and light,
Sherry

Marmee, I love your manger scene. It reminds me of my Mom's.
