life is sweet

first stop on the birthday mobile...chuck e. cheese.
i for one loath this place but everyone else...loves this place.
so we took them out of school early to avoid the
crowds...that is the only way i can go.
abbey loves it.

and so do the big kids...
ethan...jess...brittani...ellery.

abbey's big kid friend...tine.

elle...having a great time, too.

next stop...sweet and sassy.
abbey has never had her hair cut by anyone but me.
yes i am the hair cutter too...
but i thought she would feel special going to get it done by a professional.
she had been asking for me to cut her some bangs and the length.

she loves it...i do too.

now to get a little pampering...

...painted toenails please.

final stop...home...for birthday cake...

...homemade with love by daddio...
strawberry cake with homemade strawberry
icing...with bits of strawberries.
...wishes really do come true...
...always included are coins ... put in the cake for the finding...
nutty buddies are abbey's favourite.

now for the gifts for the giving...and the receiving.

...thank you my lopez friends...just what i wanted.

it is all so exciting...especially to have your bff with you..
gwyne...also known as my niece.
the celebrations continue...
next stop mailbox...next day...a package arrives...
it is always fun to get good mail...from your sister...

the fun goes on and on...

...thanks for a great book... about secrets
and mermaids...i can't wait to read it...

...thank you esther and grace...i love it.
thanks to everyone for a great birthday...thanks for love,
gifts...and time spent together.

What a day full of fun & memories for a special birthday girl! Happy Birthday to your daughter. :)

rissa,
she is enjoying her hair and nails so much. i think it gave her a boost of confidence. she seems on cloud nine. if you want a birthday green family style come on up here and we will celebrate you like there is no tomorrow. i think having your toes done is so nice and with that kind of style you wish it was flip-flop weather.

pgl,
thank you we had a wonderful day and celebrated big.

(I came here earlier- started writing a comment and got a phone call right in the middle of my typing- ACK! not sure what happened to the beginning of that comment?) Thought you'd want to know all that. LOL

What a day full of fun and all the "things Abbey loves".

Marmee, you surely know how to make a special day come alive with goodies and memories for the special person! It's nice the whole family got involved at that place we all dread to go. I remember times when I was dragged there by the little ones and if I held my nose real tight and didn't look around too much it was actually kind of fun ... mostly because they were having so much fun. SO I know exactly what you mean.

Happy Birthday days to our dear Abbey... I really do like the new "do"... it is amazing what change a new style can evoke...with a few bangs trimmed... remarkably mature. She's ten now afterall. Oh my.

Well, I only wish I could have joined in... well, the cake & celebration anyway... maybe not CEC.

Hi Marmee, what a fun birthday. The hair cut and pedi are great presents for such a lovely and grown up young lady. I am with you on chuch e. cheese. During the birthday party phase of our kids, we had more than enough of it, always on a saturday though, arghhh! I used to call it hell on earth. HA

Hi Mom & Abbey,

I am so glad she had such a beautiful birthday-that was the perfect combination of things, I think. And I think I am with everyone else when I say that Abbey, your hair looks A-mazing! I am so glad you liked the book. I hope you enjoy reading it! Love to my family!

meems, i do like to throw a good party. even though as i go along it seems to be harder to muster up the energy to really go for it. i have been mothering for a looonnnnggggggg time. but at the end of the day when that special person does indeed feel special it seems worth it(until the next one.)
i really am thinking this hair cut made a difference in her looking more mature. she is so petite people do think she is younger than she is. some advantages there and a few disadvantanges. she is actually excited to go back to school after the weekend to show her do off. we all know that feeling.
we just got back from rachel's and she says ellery wants her b-day @ c.e.c. oh well it's a month away. i will have to gear up for it.

frances, that is exactly how i feel about carnivals, fairs, places like chuck e cheese. the kids do seem to love it. i think it is because they can run around inside and nobody is telling "just walk."
abbey and i are loving the hair cut and she is feeling bigger now.glad you like it too.

it was really fun for her to get it in the mail and have something to open the day after all the excitement. i do think she will enjoy reading it. we read the description and a few pages when she opened it. it sounds like the kind of thing she will want to read. thank you so much for being her kind big sis. i loved what you wrote on the inside of her book. it was so beautifully wrapped too. the sweet little card and bracelet from grace was so special.
we love you and i will see you soon.

marnie,
it's hard to believe you have never had to suffer ur, i mean had the priviledge of going to chuck e. cheese. you should at least take a child of your choice to experience this place.
did you have a wonderful b-day?

What a lovely day for Abbey....a girls perfect day. The cake looks so yummy, my mouth was watering. I'd ask if you could send a piece in the post but I somehow don't think it would make it...sigh!

cheryl,
the cake was very good i had to pass it by for days and not nibble. but i had a piece on abbey's birthday, yummmy goodness.
thank you i think this new look gives her a bit of a more mature look. little girls grow up so fast these days, i want her to remain sweet and innocent as long as she can. my other to girls are 30 and 26 with baby girls of their own. it all happens in a flash.

maday, you are so right and how well you know with your very own grown up girls. all these precious moments make up our lifetime.
