They are sooooo cute! We don't have bluebirds, but lots of chickadees and yellow finches, plus jays and cardinals and of course mourning doves. I love, love seeing the birds this time of year.
Great pictures!

How you managed to get a shot of them in flight is amazing to me. I can never do that.

What memories for those of us a certain age! A few years ago I hunted everywhere for a copy of Song of the South and could not find one since apparently it was banned in the U.S. I finally found one on Ebay from England and purchased it. It only plays on a multi system VCR but I so love it. Thanks for that memory-such a heartwarming story it was and still is.

Lucky you to have bluebirds nesting in your back yard! I have a bluebird house but no birds.
I remember that song. From a looooong time ago! LOL!

Loved the song that brought back such fond memories. I love the little birds but sadly I don't have any. I think I'll put up a house for them & maybe they will pay me a visit.

wendy,
yes the song stirs some memories for sure. good ones for me! just you wait and see maybe the bluebirds will come.

marmee said...

yes lola, put up a house for them and they will come, remember "if you build it they will come." do read up on it as they are things that will help them greatly, spacially, and height wise.

Hi Marmee, oh that is one of my favorite movies, I have it on vhs tape, and that is one of the best scenes too! You are fortunate to see those lucky bluebirds in January. It is supposed to bring good luck for the rest of the year!

how special! bluebirds on your shoulders, uh, trees! i am inspired to put out a bird feeder and see what is attracted to visit me.

and the 'deep south' youtube - loved it! i, too, would like to have a copy of the entire film! it brings back wonderful memories of an entirely different era! do you happen to know the original year it was released? and if anyone knows where it is available now?

cheryl years ago i bought a glass bluebird that travel around the house to different locations to remind me of this whole scenerio. happiness, bluebirds on my shoulder, everything being satisfactual, you know. now to have my own pair i feeling is a blessing from above to say you are in the right place at the right time.
they are helping me make it thru winter.

darla, thank you, you can't help but be humming...singing...whistling along when that happy face sings that song!

frances,
one of my favourite movies, sleepless in seattle had a quote, "it's a sign" when the lights were on in the tower. i like to think the bluebirds are God's way of saying you are in the right place at the right time.

gigi, i do sing that song alot when i see the bluebirds. they are just so pretty when the light hits them just right. do you remember the glass bluebird i bought years ago. i used to keep it in my window when we lived in fl. i still have it in a nest on a shelf in the eatin kitchen. just to remind me it is a choice to be happy. i am so glad i have a pair of real bluebirds to remind every day of that.
i think you should definately put out a feeder and maybe the glass birdbath i gave you some years back.

ps gigi,

Thanks for stopping by my blog to look at the albino deer. I LOVE Bluebirds. I had them nest one time at the cabin. I have Tree Swallows nesting in my boxes every year.

That's funny. I play that you tube for the little one to entertain him. When I saw your post title it reminded me of it and then I opened it up and there it was.

I wish we had bluebirds here... they are so unique and beautiful. How nice you have them this time of year when you need those blips of color on the tree limbs to brighten your view!

yes, i remember the glass bluebird you had. then you gave me one too, which i used to have on my kitchen window sill above my sink at the old house. now it is in my curio - i may just get it out on my kitchen counter again. and guess what? while dh was off the past 10 days for Christmas vacation, he was making a bed for some of my potted plants. he went shopping for some mulch, and discovered a pond form that had been very discounted. we are going to have a water pond in the back yard - at last!! i have wanted one for years. and the bird bath (with the cute turtles and shell design) will definitely be a focal point of the landscape!

Love the song...very upbeat:) Also love the bluebird shots flying in the air:) I have bluebirds galore here (don't really know why?) so I'm not complaining...but I don't recall getting a shot of one in midair. Those are the coolest.
