i love having a front porch. our first house had a porch.
the house we moved from had wonderful front and back porches.
we enjoy sitting there to do things like...drink coffee...watch
the sunrise...play games...have conversations with family and friends...swing...etc...
i want a cozy porch that just feels like an extention to the outdoors from in.
so when i see a porch like this one online:
or this one:
i ask myself what can i do to make it look finished?
believe me i know my porch has potential...but
somehow it is lack~luster.
it's got good bones...like great millwork.
we even have a beautiful live accoutremont. well not just one.
i have purchased several antiques to warm it up but still...
i feel like it is lacking...
i need some ideas...some new perspective...i need inspiration.

Oh gosh. I have no idea at all. what little creative brain I had took a permanent vacation & forgot to tell me it was going. I love the antiques.
Maybe some white wicker.
oh lola...that's funny...i have white wicker on the porch.
Great millwork is an understatement. It is wonderful!
i am very fortunate to have such lovely woodwork.
Hi Marmee......not something us brits do. You rarely see 'American style' porches here. I love them......they are such a wonderful feature...
I am sure, without doubt, that you will find inspiration and get it to look just how you want it to.....
I love the features you show.....exquisite....
You don't want it to look too much like an inside room, do you? I love what you've done so far. I'm not good at decorating, but I do like to fill spaces with treasures I get from garage sales or thrift stores. Let us know if you make any changes.
Oh, My dear Marmee... where does the time go? I've missed two posts and I'm catching up. How I would love to help you out on this one. First of all your front porch is lovely and you have made it very homey and cozey. But oh, how I would love to put our brains together and play with it... maybe my next visit? I have a feeling that the narrow more enclosed feeling (different from those photos) makes it a little harder to work with... you can't do it all at once... one project at a time, dear sista!
