as the sun sets

as our journey comes to an end. there is a melancholy that sets in. we all know we have to return home and we all want to. but there is a sadness that comes over each one of us. we have had a glorious time together.

our retreat was just that. a respite from our daily routines as moms, wives, and working women. together we are just family... sisters, mothers, daughters and friends.

it has been a privilege to share this time in honour of GIGI, who was turning a significant milestone.

we have laughed, cried, and told stories of things past and hopes for our future. it has been good for our souls and our spirits!

as we leave our place of restoration, we are not the same women that came. each one of us has contributed our own uniqueness to add to the change that has happened.

we embrace it and embrace each other and say till next time.

"i love you and our time together!"

Wonderful to spend time with a group of women. Much to be learned and deep understanding to be gained.

Well said, my sweet sister. Beautiful captures, too, of our thoughts and our retreat. We're home now and the memories have been made. It was a beautiful time and beautiful place.

AND... it's really HOT here. :-( Sure am missing those cool mornings and evenings with the fireplace burning.

marmee,

You have written a beautiful post. It sounds like it was a wonderful retreat with your sisters, mother and friends. It makes me want to call my sisters and get together to celebrate and spend some quiet time together.

Thank you for sharing your special time with us.

marmee: I did notice ... bravo! I'm not sure they are working though... or it may be my computer... I've had a slow connection all day today.

I also noticed the weather reports and thought you were enjoying cooler weather. Oh well, it is what it is in Florida and that means 92 degrees today... send some cool air our way will ya?

This is a beautiful place for a retreat, especially with great friends.
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such a nice comment. I know I've seen your comments on other blogs before, and I realize now it was probably on Cheryl's. You have the same appreciation of the beauty around you that she does. I love the feeling of peace and tranquility here.

Women communing together. Sounds delightful. We as women should commit more to doing this sort of thing. Rejuvenates the spirit.

bk,

it is so true. one thing i have learned from many devastating circumstances in my adult life is to nuture myself. if i don't my family suffers. but if i do watch out!

The serenity of the abode may it linger in your mind forever. A beautiful retreat in a gorgeous place. I truly miss the mtns with all my being. But I'm grateful to God for letting me have the time I did have. My memories shall be with me all the days of my life.
I am so glad you all got to have that time together.
