into the woods

it is that time of year when the outdoors beckons. we, dh, abbey, and i love to take walks. in tow is our three very happy energetic dogs maggie, buster, and bronte'.

soooooo thru our portal, the back door we head.

past the backyard living space.
past the man made pond

and into the woods.

nature at it's best , wild and free!

with beauty at every turn !

we have a bit more than 7 acres.

our back field is left to cut hay.

the sun is setting over the field.

i am assuming this is mature poke salad. ripe fruit for the birds to eat.

field daisies.

a moth lit on a gorgeous purple wild flower by moonlight.

the moon shows itself as the sun decides to go down.
i know these are dark but this is abbey skipping along the dirt road that is at the back of our property thru a few other fields. she brings treats for the dogs. at the end of the road before we turn back she gives each one a biscuit but not without them doing a trick first.

she is a happy girl getting to walk with mom and daddio all by herself.

marmee-the sunset is beautiful! How lucky you are to be able to walk on so much land. Sounds like you had a perfect evening!

I read miranda's comment about Miss Potter. I loved the movie too. Have you read Susan Albet's Cottage Tale books?

mb,
i am glad you decided to come by and take a look around. thank you for noticing my photos, that is my true passion. i am very blessed where i get to live and the surrounding countryside. we have lots of arces all around us 214 acres right across the street. 50 the other direction. it is so nice.
i did love miss potter and i could watch it with my youngest daughter
(9). that is a rarity, these days. i would love to live somewhere like the house she buys in the end.
i will enjoy my garden and you enjoy yours.

mt,
that sunset was very pretty indeed.
we are truly blessed and it was so nice to be outside when it wasn't too hot. i am looking forward to cooler evenings.

Dear Marmee,
Such a lovely family walk! Fields of wildflowers I dream about....I live in the city and long for the silence of the countryside. Miss Moon is beautiful! I watched her and Venus last night climb in the evening sky.
Thank you for this glimps into your Heaven on Earth.
Namaste,
Sherry

I like your blog. I am also in TN, lived in Knoxville for 35 years. Just moved 2 yrs ago to New Market (Jefferson Co). We have 2 acres, and open fields and woods behind us. Your butterfly on the purple wildflower is a Skipper. There are lots of skippers, so not sure which one. If you are like me, you will start seeing lots of these little butterflies once you see one. Thanks for visiting my blog.
