are you fading away, magic?

i am almost convinced that fall is my favourite time of the year.
now it seems to be fading away. i will embrace winter.
i want to enjoy all seasons.
they each have their own beauty.

what is more wonderful than taking a walk with family
after thanksgiving dinner together?
not much in my mind, except photographing the memory.

leaves coloured brightly are almost gone, even the ones that have fallen.
they have been blown by the cool wind of the north.
most of the ripen berries have been foraged by the birds.
the ones left are jewel toned. simply beautiful.

on this brisk november day, the sun is shining and bidding us ado.
autumn is coming to the end and winter is swiftly entering our days.
will there be snow, i hope so.

i will embrace winter and it's charms.
goodbye november.

GIVING THANKS WELL

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. ~colossians 3:16,17~

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY!

loveless

as we leave on this crisp autumn day all is well,
with pumpkins stacked neatly outside the front door.
the leaves have all fallen creating a path
of colour and wonder on life's painted floor.

orange mums need deadheading, alas that can wait.
our stomachs are growling, " TO THE LOVELESS CAFE' "
they're famous for biscuits and jellies homemade.
what a great way to start such a beautiful day.

benches for seats while your table is set
the windows are dressed, a nouveau savoir faire?
with careless abandon the aprons are hung
famous and common mix with nary a care .

pause for a picture as we head out the door
our bellies are full , of that we are glad.
the tractor is smiling as we take our leave
dh and mr. phil a grand visit have had.

a kind thank you to dh for helping me with the rhyming!

gifted

when meems paid me a visit recently... being the avid gardener that she is... she just had to bring me something from her garden. i love all the varieties of caladiums she has in her tropical garden in florida. i had mentioned on my last trip how i really admired these. so in her considerate manner she brought some lovely bulbs for me to plant in the spring. i am excited to have such a beautiful specimen, especially since it came from my dear sister, meems.

thanks sis for gifting me from your heart.

i believe she called these miss muffets.

Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet, you know how the fairy tale goes!
This is a dwarf strap leaf variety that will accent any landscape!
This plant has a beautiful chartreuse green color with red spotsIt is an excellent border plant and it will do great planted in those shaded and semi-semi-shaded areas of your landscape.
It'll grow about 12" tall.

yipee for me, meems you may have started something!

a night of fun

day spent walking

this is the view right outside my front door across the street.
dusk brings out the beautiful golden hues of the leaves.

nandina bushes heavily laden with berries are all around our property.
for some reason i have taken notice of them more this season with their reds, oranges and deep burgundies.

our 7 plus acres is partly pasture but their is a wall of dense
trees to the left that divides us from one neighbour.
as we take our leave to walk, the trees are our guides.

the leaves have been falling profusely creating showers of colour.
as they leave the trees, the berries all around show off their many varieties.

for me there is something so telling, so beautiful about spent...leaves, wildflowers, and fields.

since our frosts have tipped all the greenery in brown
the berries are just waiting for the birds to come and eat.

pleasing to my eye is the wispiness of the thistle.

i love the look of sepia in natural wild scape's.
this old tree holds many secrets of birds lives.

queen anne's lace is still pretty even though bitten.

nature is the best inspiration for fashion.
just take a look at the red, green, brown, grey...or the orange with black polka dotted leaves.

this walk has been rejuvenating for me and dh.
taking time alone, together, it is a blessing.

taking note of the beauty in nature always does the heart and mind good.
